SBTI
In 2024, SOFACOMPANY had our climate targets approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This validation marks an important milestone in our efforts to reduce our climate footprint and support the global objectives of the UN’s Paris Agreement.
Focus on our greatest impact
As more than 90% of our total carbon footprint stems from the production and transportation of our products, it is essential that our suppliers also work to reduce their own footprint, if we are to lower our overall impact. Therefore, our collaboration with suppliers and partners is crucial in achieving our goals.
Our targets:
Scope 1 and 2: SOFACOMPANY commits to reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 50.4% by August 31, 2032 (compared to 2022 levels).
Scope 3: SOFACOMPANY commits to ensuring that 70% of our product suppliers and upstream transportation providers will have set their own science-based targets by August 31, 2029. Find the full target wording here by searching “Sofaco”.
This approval is an important step in our strategic efforts to reduce our CO2e emissions. We are working with determination and will continue our efforts and collaboration with all those who share our ambition to reduce our climate impact.
FSC
FSC® is short for Forest Stewardship Council and it’s the world’s most reliable certification program for responsible forestry. FSC® is your guarantee of getting wood and other materials from well-managed forests and other responsible sources. When you buy FSC® labelled products you help maintain great social conditions as well as biodiversity in forests around the world. At SOFACOMPANY we continuously work to increase the amount of FSC® certified products in our assortment. Look for FSC® certified products on our website (FSC® N003718). SOFACOMPANY has been a member of FSC® Denmark since 2021.
